All students at the College have an Education, Health and Care Plan. They are identified as having SEMH and / or Autism, which could be accompanied by challenging behaviour.
The College has a main campus and a subsidiary campus at Alverston Gardens and is for a maximum of 100 students. The main site is a multi-million-pound new build and facilities include state of the art vocational workshops offering Catering, Bricklaying, Carpentry & Joinery, Motor Mechanics, Painting & Decorating and Multi-skills. These vocational areas are designed to promote a direct link into work and apprenticeships by replicating a business type environment.
Beckmead College also contains a state of the art bespoke rooms for Media and Music. The College is designed around a central area that contains a full size Boxing Ring that will support the delivery of sports courses.

At Key Stage 4 students follow a broad curriculum that incorporates core subjects English, Mathematics, Science, Citizenship and ICT. They can follow option subjects in Business, Food, Sport, Art and Media or Music. They also have a vocational offer focused on construction or mechanics.
At Key Stage 5 students can choose a curriculum pathway from a choice of 4:
Each pathway will, in addition, incorporate core subjects Maths and English, and an enrichment programme consisting of ICT, PE, ASDAN Life Skills including Budget Management, Careers and Employability. Students will gain an ‘Employability’ qualification through ASDAN. One day a week students will attend a work placement which, as far as possible, is linked to their vocational pathway.
